Creative Director, Writer, Designer, Film-maker
Having begun in marketing communications as one of Western Australia’s most respected advertising writers, Ric brings a communicator’s sensibility to design, advertising, brand strategy, and film direction.
Over 15 years as a Creative Director in large integrated agencies – and since 2011 in his own consultancy Brandino – Ric has driven a great many branding projects, for large clients like Satterley, GESB, LandCorp, and the Summit Homes Group, and for many not-so-large organisations, like Interchange WA, the Pilbara Regional Council and the Art Gallery of WA.
He has also created many of WA’s most recognised brand advertising campaigns, including WA Tourism’s ‘The Real Thing’, Masters’ ‘The cows are loose’, Summit Homes’ ‘Built around people’, Lotterywest’s ‘Circle of Dreams’, Dale Alcock Homes’ ‘For today. For tomorrow.’ and Burswood Resort Casino’s ‘Where the action is’.
Ric has shared Gold at the PADC Awards for the innovative brand theming of the Fresh Digital seminar event, which also saw him named joint winner of Art Director of the Year.
He is a two-time winner of the coveted PADC The West Australian Fellowship awarded for excellence in press advertising. He has also created the Campaign Brief Print Campaign of the Year (and Finalists in two other years).
Ric is recognised as one of Perth’s finest radio writers, having been awarded both locally and nationally. In television, among many accolades, he has won Gold at the London International Awards.
